2024 Hoggard Cadets
attending LA & CC
The purpose of the leadership academy is to help prepare selected NJROTC cadets for leadership roles in their respective units. The objectives of Leadership Academy are to promote habits of orderliness and precision, and to develop respect for constituted authority, to challenge and motivate cadets to push toward their physical and intellectual limits. The cadets end the week with a graduation ceremony during which they received a silver shoulder cord to wear on their uniform, signifying the completion of Leadership Academy.
The NJROTC Leadership Academy is essentially a 1 week bootcamp experience that works on developing leadership skills, physical fitness, and discipline. Every NJROTC battalion sends 2+ of their best cadets to Leadership Academy so that they bring something back to contribute to the battalion. Each NJROTC "region" has their own Leadership Academy and a couple hundred are selected every year. Area 6/7's Leadership Academy is held at the Citadel Military Academy in Mount Pleasant, SC in June each year.
DO NOT FORGET:
Cadets must arrive in NJROTC-issued PT gear and with their Area Seven Leadership Academy Letter of Instruction.
PT gear must be free of school names or logos.
Ensure trousers are hemmed and shirts have the NJROTC patch.
Arrival must be between 1000 and 1200.
Graduation is at 0900 on the last day/Saturday. All family members are invited to attend.
